“United Nations World Tourism Organization Welcomes Leisure Quest International”

During the United Nation’s World Tourism Organization’s 88th Executive Council session held recently in Puerto Iguazu, Leisure Quest International’s affiliation to the UNWTO was officially approved.

UNWTO Director Javier Blanco said “It is a real honor for the UNWTO to count Leisure Quest International, with all its knowledge and potential for collaboration that it represents, among the prestigious 400 affiliate members worldwide. This gives us further impetus to improve tourism to the benefit of all the World’s population”. Leisure Quest is among only 90 affiliate members from the United States.

“We are honored to have been accepted into the UNWTO and look forward to contributing our significant international tourism development experience to the organization” stated Mark A. Driscoll, President of Leisure Quest International, LLC. “We plan to take an active role in the development of tourism policy and know-how for the benefit of developing countries across the Globe” The World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) is a specialized agency of the United ‎Nations and the leading international organization in the field of tourism. It serves as a ‎global forum for tourism policy issues and a practical source of tourism know-how.‎ The UNWTO plays a central and decisive role in promoting the development of responsible, ‎sustainable and universally accessible tourism, paying particular attention to the ‎interests of developing countries.‎ Its membership includes 154 countries, 7 territories and over 400 Affiliate ‎Members representing the private sector, educational institutions,
tourism associations ‎and local tourism authorities.‎
