Details of the project remain confidential but the film's Executive Producer and Leisure Quest President Mark Driscoll says "The film will be the most comprehensive Imax film ever produced on China, and we are both proud and pleased to undertake such an exciting and monumental film project".

The Production team is among the most experienced in large format film production. The project will be lead by award winning Director Keith Melton and Imax veteran Director of Photography Reed Smoot. Melton and Smoot recently collaborated on the much celebrated Imax film Mystic India currently in distribution worldwide.
